Party season with Coast

Its only 57days until Christmas which means its probably about 47days until your Christmas parties… time to start thinking about that seasonal outfit.

Coast have a gorgeous selection of dresses ranging from sequin LBDs, long column gowns and cocktail dresses.

The Perla sequined dress is absolutely stunning and I most definitely have my eye on it. It’s a beautiful cocktail dress that wraps across the body with a curved hem and pluging neckline (this season’s key daring look). The sequins instantly connote Christmas sparkle…

For an extra touch of glamour for a more sophisticated occassion there is the stunning Elita Maxi. An eye-catching one-shouldered column dress in a bronze colour with a hint of sheen. The draping around the waist is very flattering and the band across the shoulder and round the waist draws the eye to all the right places.

The dresses go on sale through exclusive in store preview events at 6.00pm on November 3rd 2011.

The participating stores are:
Bluewater, Glasgow, Regent Street, Westfield, Trafford, Cardiff, Meadowhall, Cribbs Causeway, Liverpool ONE and online at www.coast-stores.com

6000AD

This is possibly the coolest website I have EVER come across! I freakin’ love it!!

Before I even looked at the clothes and accessories on offer I was blown away by the striking design of the site, it’s so simple yet so exciting. I love the block shapes and the kind of secretive nature of it, you have to scroll over shapes to discover what they link to. The use of moving images on the home page instantly makes me want to click on them, for a marketeer I am a marketing dream!

Once composed, I actually had a look at the stuff on offer and the products certainly emulate the coolness of the branding. This certainly isn’t your standard run of the mill range and you have to be pretty brave to pull off some of the garments but it’s all exciting, fresh and quirky.

Even the founder’s descriptions are fun:

Philip Normal, Westminster Fashion graduate, creator of the Happy Shack store in Camden Stables Market, London, and general all round creative person. Fashion Fun editor of Super Super magazine, and former DJ but now just plays the ukulele.

and

Alexandre Pollazzon, Art History graduate from La Sorbonne, Paris (but he’s a Londoner now), contemporary art curator, advisor and former gallery owner. We both like facial hair and going out too much.

I don’t know these guys but I already wish they were my friends! This is definitely something different and I love it!

Affordable Karl

Karl Lagerfeld is launching a lower priced range exclusive to net-a-porter!!

Hallelujah!

The prices start from as little as £50 and the range will be called ‘Karl’. What I like about it is that it isn’t a capsule collection for a high street store, it’s an actual range sold independently that is here to stay.

The collection will consist of around 70 pieces including little black dresses, biker jackets and silver jeans. Luxury and glamour that us ‘average’ ladies can afford.

The range is due to launch 25th January 2012, keep your eyes peeled!

Pink it up

It’s October, that means get breast aware ladies. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and there are many delightful things you can buy to show your support as well as giving your bit to charity.

It’s not all about pink either so fear not if you are not the biggest fan of the super girly shade, Paloma Faith has designed a gorgeous lingerie set for La Senza which is in sultry black satin.

Crabtree & Evelyn have a lovely pink tote bag with roses to brighten up any drab October day.

Asda have some super fluffy looking slippers which I am more drawn to that anything at the moment, must be cold!

Below are some treats you can buy guilt-free knowing you are supporting a very important charity.

Paloma Faith at La Senza satin lingerie set, bra £30 (£3 donation)and brief £16 (£1 donation)

Paloma Faith at La Senza teddy, £30 (£3 donation)

Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater pink roses tote, £10 (£5 donation)

First the clutch, now heels?

It was only yesterday I blogged about man clutchs now I have the even more shocking man heels to talk about. Now I have no doubt about this one, it definitely tips the scales too far. There’s just something not right about a man in heels, that’s our territory boys so back off! It doesn’t help that I only just measure up to 5ft 3″ and already feel tiny beside most men, I don’t need to be made to feel even smaller!

Man clutch, hmm..?

I have noticed a rise in the man clutch and I’m not sure what to make of it to be perfectly honest. I’m all for metrosexuality but is this tipping the scales too far?

I love a man to take care of his appearance and take pride in his clothes and style but I just find the image of a man clasping a clutch a little too much. That’s not to say I won’t change my mind, after all we are seeing more and more androgynous dressing. First came the skinny jeans, then the cardigan, next the clutch?

So far it seems to be exclusive to the designer shopper and fashion insiders but how long until we see the likes of Topman displaying their take on the man clutch?

Pearl Lowe for Peacocks

Pearl Lowe has created another range for high street store Peacocks with her gorgeous daughter Daisy as the muse and model.

The vintage inspired Christmas collection has a mixture of a 50s and 70s feel with beautiful prints, embellishments and fabrics. The range is made up of six day to night dresses and will be available from 10th November in stores and online.

The dresses are really glamorous and start from just £40. It has definitely inspired me to take a look in Peacocks.

My personal favourite is the gold dress with the embellished top, it’s perfect for a Christmas party.

Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser

I was first introduced to this miracle cream when I was given a free sample, it was love at first use. The tester pot was small and I got every last little bit out. Like with all testers I use them and think ‘ooo free stuff, I will just use it’ but as always (and like was intended) I inevitably end up loving whatever it is and go out to purchase the full size version.

I must confess I normally go for a fairly mid market cheapish moisturiser and just resign to the fact that I have dry skin but it turns out I didn’t have to give in to those pesky dry patches after all, I just needed a good moisturiser.

Step up Liz Earle! After the revelation of using the tester and seeing an instant change in my skin I had to face facts that I now was going to be spending more, and to be honest it’s something I use everyday so why shouldn’t I?!

Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser smells lovely, it’s not overly fragranced but has a natural organic kind of smell that just smells luxurious. It doesn’t feel at all greasy and leaves my skin feeling soft and with a healthy glow. It really feels like it sinks into your skin and works deep down and keeps my skin moisturised all day unlike other cheaper moisturisers that seem to give up towards the end of the day.

The only thing now is that I am already taking a closer look at other Liz Earle products, sorry purse…
