LFW day 1 pick: Emilia Wickstead

Emilia Wickstead was definitely the stand out show for me on day 1 at London Fashion Week, there was a feel of old English heritage mixed with a modern twist. Beige, pops of red, dusky pink, black brocade and horse print fabrics made up the palette of this understated sexy collection.

Full skirts, square necklines and A line dresses had the feel of 18th century Britain but then sheer chiffon floaty dresses with full briefs below bought the look to a more modern era.

Topshop: ‘Spring Equinox’ trend

Topshop’s Spring Equinox trend definitely gets me in the mood for hotter times, it makes me crave those lighter nights and that summery breeze.

Topshop describe the inspiration for the look as:

“Anything that’s dreamy; folk stories and pink skies to celestial beings and tarot cards! We’re imagining a girl who fronts a band that goes by the name of Spring Equinox.”

I love how Topshop have styled the look, there’s lots of layering and amongst the pretty pastel, girly colours, there are shots of neon and glitter. Mirrored shoes, sequin embellished tops, mixed textures such as plastic bags and interesting shapes make this look quirky and fun. Bring on the Summer!
