LFW day 2 pick: House of Holland

As always, House of Holland added an injection of quirky fun to the proceedings. The burst of colour, fun patterns and prints stood out in a more muted palette usually found in Autumn/ Winter. Holland said the collection was “Mork and Mindy do the Tour de France” and you can certainly see his inspiration throughout.

The collection was made up of houndstooth and zig zag prints in bright reds, pinks, blues, purples and greens. There was a definite 70s feel to all the pieces, with flared jersey all in ones, smock tops layered over wide leg flares and flicked out skater dresses.

For a more evening feel the houndstooth print dresses where transformed into iridescent versions and full length dresses were glammed up with shimmery embellishments. Shaggy goat hair also added exciting interest in shocking red in the form of a jacket and on sleeves.

LFW day 2 pick: Jasper Conran

Thanks to Stylist magazine I watched the Jasper Conran show and it was sultry and stunning. The show opened with Love to Love You and that well and truly set the theme to the show, the models sashayed down the runway in copper, sequins and embellishment.

There was a lot of neck detailing, with peter pan collars, structured shapes and alternative V necks. Full bodied tulip skirts could be seen teamed with nipped in waists and mixtures of texture. The overall palette was made up of copper, browns, beiges and creams. Ostrich feathers and fringing added a hit of interest amongst the strong tailoring that could be seen in the rest of the collection.
